The healthcare and life sciences sector in Malaysia has become increasingly important post-COVID-19. The Malaysian government remains committed to strengthening the country’s preparedness in healthcare and life sciences over the next decade, particularly modernising healthcare infrastructure and vaccine production to face possible pandemics in the future. Such commitment as well as ongoing discussion and efforts on preventive healthcare are critical to establishing a strong and resilient healthcare system and security.
The public and private healthcare sectors are investing significantly in health innovation, medical devices and digital health in the next 10 years to ensure Malaysia maintains its competitive edge in delivering world-class quality healthcare services.
The BMCC in collaboration with Kent County Council, UK is organising a virtual trade mission from 18 to 30 September 2022 focusing on the healthcare and life sciences sector. The delegation comprises 6 UK companies from the Kent & Medway, East Sussex, Essex and South Essex regions.
As a run-up to the virtual trade mission, the BMCC with Kent County Council organised a webinar focused on “Opportunities in the Healthcare and Life Sciences Sector in Malaysia”, which covered topics such as an overview of the sector in Malaysia, the regulatory system of Malaysian medical devices and distribution of healthcare in the country.
