The Malaysia Interest Group of the IRM is pleased to be hosting its first online Special Interest Group session with two distinguished experts in the field of cyber security and risk management: Mr. Neil Atkinson and Dato’ Ts. Dr. Haji Amirudin Abdul Wahab.
Neil Atkinson is a highly experienced senior security risk manager with core competencies across enterprise, strategic and operational risk, audit, assurance, compliance techniques, and continuous improvement in reporting methodologies and metrics. He has extensive knowledge of risk frameworks (ISO 31000, COSO & Orange Book), information and cyber security standards (ISO 27001, 27005 & NIST 800), and cyber risk quantification using FAIR. Neil combines strong analytical skills with practical experience to help organisations safeguard revenue, assets, and reputation. He is particularly passionate about advancing security and ESG practices, continuously seeking opportunities to enhance resilience.

Dato’ Ts. Dr. Haji Amirudin Abdul Wahab is the Chief Executive Officer of CyberSecurity Malaysia, the national cybersecurity specialist and technical agency responsible for safeguarding Malaysia’s cyberspace and digital sovereignty. With more than 30 years of experience in the ICT industry, spanning leadership roles in both public and private sectors, Dato’ Dr. Amirudin has played a central role in shaping Malaysia’s national cyber resilience strategy. He has also chaired numerous national and international platforms, advocating for stronger cybersecurity capacity and collaboration. In recognition of his contributions, he has received multiple awards, including the National Technologist Award 2024, and he currently serves on the National Anti-Financial Crime Centre (NFCC) Advisory Board as well as the Advisory Panel of the Bumiputra Economic Study Institute at UPTM.
