Seamlessly bridging the climate action gap, it explores the wider spectrum of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) factors, uniting environmental preservation, social responsibility, and effective governance.

BMCC & KTJ Sustainability Conference: Empowering Schools for a Green Feature!

6 November 2023

BMCC together with Kolej Tuanku Ja’afar successfully organised a sustainability conference that was participated by students from Asia Pacific School, Epsom College, Nexus International School, Charterhouse Malaysia, and Kolej Tuanku Jaafar. The conference provided students with a platform to showcase their sustainability initiatives and environmental practices within their schools, promoting learning and innovation.

Thank you, Kolej Tuanku Ja’afar for hosting and organising this inaugural student-led event. The event received support from and was attended by students from BMCC member schools.

ESG Discovery Tour: Gamuda Cove

Hosted by Gamuda Land, BMCC members explored the blueprint of a sustainable township at Gamuda Cove, which showcased the future of property development. This low-carbon smart city has been meticulously designed to preserve natural resources while offering a wealth of entertainment and recreational options for its community.

ESG Horizons: Briefing on ESG Government Incentives

We partnered with PwC to host a comprehensive briefing on the Malaysian Government’s latest ESG-related tax and non- tax incentives, as outlined in Budget 2024. This session provided businesses with crucial insights into leveraging these incentives to optimise operations, reduce costs, and align with evolving ESG initiatives. It was an invaluable opportunity for participants to deepen their understanding and strategise for sustainable growth in the changing regulatory landscape.

Enabling Clean Growth & Sustainable Transition: Public-Private Partnerships & International Collaborations

The British High Commission, Kuala Lumpur hosted a dialogue session at the Asia Pacific Climate Week 2023, titled “Enabling Clean Growth and Sustainable Transition: Public-Private Partnerships and International Collaborations”. Here, policymakers, industry experts, and global partners discussed their efforts in driving Malaysia and Southeast Asia’s green transformation. Participants gained insights into Malaysia’s shift towards sustainable energy and industry, the UK’s initiatives in sustainable development, and successful collaborative models outlined in the UK-Malaysia Clean Growth Handbook. The session also explored international partnerships, focusing on policy frameworks, innovative strategies, and practical case studies from Malaysia and the United Kingdom.
