On 27 June, the BMCC organised an event for iconic British oil company Duckhams to relaunch their brand in the ASEAN region. In his welcome remarks, Jabir Sheth, Chairman of Alexander Duckhams & Co. Ltd, spoke of the company’s ambition to once again become the leading automotive lubricant provider in Malaysia. He elaborated on Duckham’s future plans to expand their presence throughout Southeast Asia via Malaysia as their regional hub. The event was attended by Duckhams’ distributors, clients and BMCC members; with Deputy High Commissioner to Malaysia, David Thomas witnessing the launch.
Through its Malaysian entity – Duckhams Oil Malaysia Sdn Bhd (BMCC Large Member), has been aggressively approaching the Malaysian engine oil market since Q4 of 2018. Currently, Duckhams has successfully appointed distributors throughout the country as well as in Singapore.
Founded in 1899, Duckhams is a globally renowned oil brand with its history inextricably linked to British motorsport heritage. Known for its distinctive green hue, Duckhams invented Europe’s first ever multigrade oil, the Duckhams Q in 1951, changing the face of automotive lubricants. After an absence of nearly 15 years, Duckhams was officially re-launched at the 2017 NEC Classic Motor Show, and is now officially back in Malaysia. Talks between BMCC and Duckhams began since early 2019, and we are proud to support this great and historic British brand’s return!
