The BMCC Energy Committee hosted its inaugural event last week on the topic “Disruption & Innovation in the O&G Industry.” The event featured senior representative speakers from Wood PLC, Lloyd’s Register Asia, Petrofac and Serba Dinamik.
Ron Anderson, Group Advisor for Serba Dinamik presented first on the Internet of Things, why it is gaining traction and how it will impact Oil and Gas companies. With Real Time Data as well as Big Data Analytics, IOT is poised to have a huge impact on automation opportunities whilst reducing cost, danger and human error.
Rod Macdonald, Senior VP South East Asia & East Asia of Wood PLC spoke on the integrated service contracts, the basics and its requirements as well as providing an overview on Balmoral FPV and its facilities management.
Representing Lloyd’s Register Asia, Regional Consultancy Manager Douglass Raitt spoke on the subject of “LNG Bunkering – Where Technology Meets Logistics” including matters pertaining to the risks and challenges of LNG as well as alternative sources of clean energy.
Going last but not least, Matt Spalding, Business Development Director – Apac of Petrofac presented on the Opportunities Through Tier 1 Divestments. He commented that major companies will continue to divest in mature fields within the APAC region and that leveraging on the service operator model developed in the UKCS has proven to be able to deliver Opex reduction outcomes.
