Last week on the 20th July, the BMCC Breakfast Talk Series continued its fine form of delivering key & engaging speakers. Sponsored by TMF Group, the fifth edition of the series revolved around the overarching theme of Cyber & Surveillance Security. Around 20 attendees were present, all showing a keen interest in the subject by fueling the Q&A session with personal and corporate curiosity.
The speakers for the morning were made up of fellow members of the BMCC, BAE Systems were represented by Rishe Ramasamy (GM of BAE Systems Applied Intelligence, Malaysia Engineering Centre) and Fadzril Fatin (Senior Cyber Security Consultant of BAE Systems Applied Intelligence Sdn Bhd), while Digistar was represented by Ethan Chang Hon Yen (Head of Sales, Panther 911 & Panther Mobile of Digistar Corporation Bhd).
They spoke on the topics of “Malaysia & The Cyber Threat Landscape” and “Modern Security Technology: Protection or Prevention” respectively. BAE Systems provided an overlay of all the global hacking events over the past few years, citing its geographic range, damages and countermeasures. Panther 911 of Digistar Holdings then presented on security at more physically personal and domestic capacity. As opposed to numerous security solutions available in the market which are prone to false alarms, neglect and high maintenance costs, Panther seeks to prevent rather than resolving crimes by its real time video monitoring system.
