The BMCC had a great start to 2023 as we had the opportunity to meet with the new Minister of Economy, Malaysia, YB Rafizi Ramli, at his office in Putrajaya on 5th January. Our Chair, Mark Arthun, led the BMCC delegation, which included BMCC Board Members and key British Investors. Joining the Minister at the roundtable discussion were senior officers from the Economic Planning Unit.
The meeting provided an excellent platform to share the Chamber’s roles and objectives, especially in supporting our members with the ease of doing business in Malaysia and strengthening UK-Malaysia businesses and partnerships. Key areas of discussion included the talent demands of the industry and how the private and public sectors can collaborate to accelerate talent availability and upskilling; the role of the private education sector in supporting talent development; Sustainability, and energy transition.
Our sincere appreciation to YB Rafizi Ramli and the officers for taking the time to meet us, and we look forward to future collaboration between the Chamber and the Ministry of Economy.
