BUSINESS ENGAGEMENT LUNCH & B2B SESSION WITH NORTHERN POWERHOUSE DELEGATION

The Northern Powerhouse project is a new initiative by the UK government aiming to induce economic growth to parts of northern England. By the year 2020 the northern cities of Manchester, Leeds, Sheffield, Liverpool and Newcastle are set to go through a major infrastructure and transport links development, becoming a very attractive environment for foreign investors and adding to the region’s relatively untapped economic potential.

British Malaysian Chamber of Commerce will host a business delegation comprising of heads of 50 UK companies representing the region, headed by The Rt Hon Francis Maude, the Minister of State for Trade and Investment. Lord Maude will be accompanied by The Rt Hon Sajid Javid MP, Secretary of State for Business, Innovation and Skills.

Malaysian businesses will not only have a unique opportunity to hear from the ministers about the importance the UK government gives to the British-Malaysian trade and investment relations, but also learn first-hand about how the UK government sees the involvement of the Malaysian private sector in the Northern Powerhouse project.

Attendance in this event is free of charge but places are limited and delegates will be registered on the first come first served basis.
