Education (3-18 Years) Committee

The BMCC Education Committee (ages 3–18) brings together leading International Schools delivering the British Curriculum alongside education-focused organisations dedicated to supporting the learning and development of children.

Serving as a unified advocacy platform, the committee addresses key challenges and emerging issues within the education sector, including children safeguarding, teacher recruitment policies, teachers’ training, and the recognition of QTS qualifications. By fostering meaningful dialogue and collaboration, the committee amplifies the collective voice of the industry, engaging constructively with regulators, policymakers, and government stakeholders to shape a progressive and sustainable educational landscape.

BMCC at the Nexus International School Learner Leadership & Sustainability Conference

The British Malaysian Chamber of Commerce (BMCC) was proud to support the Learner Leadership and Sustainability Conference hosted by Nexus International School on 10 March 2026 in conjunction with International Day of Women and Girls in Science.

1st Meeting in 2026

On 21 February, the BMCC Education (3-18 Years) Committee held its first meeting for 2025, graciously hosted by Sri KDU International School Kota Damansara.

SST Unpacked: What Private Education Sectors Need to Know

A recent TraTax webinar shed light on the new regulations, addressing concerns around mixed student cohorts, managing tiered fees, and best practices for invoicing. Private educators are encouraged to act promptly: identify taxable services, register for SST if required, update invoicing systems, and clearly communicate any fee adjustments.

BMCC Engagement Session with Ministry of Finance on SST Expansion Issue on Private Education Sector

On 2 July 2025, we organised an engagement session with the Ministry of Finance (MOF) and the Royal Malaysian Customs Department to seek clarification and gain a deeper understanding of the recently announced expansion of the Sales and Service Tax (SST) to the private education sector.

3rd Meeting in 2025 and Safety Briefing by the British Consulate Malaysia

The BMCC Education Committee (3 to 18 Years) convened its third meeting of the year on 10 October at Kolej Tuanku Ja’afar (KTJ), bringing together members to discuss ongoing and upcoming initiatives aimed at strengthening collaboration within the education sector.

Charterhouse Malaysia | Sustainability Conference 2024

The purpose of the Sustainability Conference is to unite students and educators from BMCC member schools in a collaborative effort to advance sustainability initiatives. This conference will empower participants to share and enhance their projects, gain insights from industry experts, and develop impactful strategies for environmental stewardship.

BMCC & KTJ Sustainability Conference: Empowering Schools for a Green Feature

Inspiration knows no age and we were inspired by the amazing ideas of our future leaders from the Asia Pacific School, Epsom College, Nexus International School, Charterhouse Malaysia, and Kolej Tuanku Jaafar. The conference focused on providing students a platform to share their inspiring sustainability stories and eco-initiatives, fostering learning and innovation.
