Rounding up a productive past week, the Chamber’s first event for the year was organised last Monday by the BMCC Energy Committee in partnership with MOGSC. The keynote and networking forum on Understanding The Journey to Decommissioning drew 145 attendees across the Oil & Gas sector, turning up to hear from global experts speak on Malaysia’s roadmap to cost effective solutions on the arduous and expensive process of decommissioning, The keynote speeches were delivered by H.E. Vicki Treadell CMG, MVO (British High Commissioner to Malaysia) and Muhammad Zamri Jusoh (VP of Malaysia Petroleum Management, PETRONAS) with the latter announcing that decommissioning is and will continue to be a key focus in Malaysia, and that PETRONAS has a 10 year plan in store for upcoming projects.
Welcoming addresses from Sharifah Zaida Nurlisha (MOGSC President) and Hanif Hashim (BMCC Energy Committee Chairman & General Manager or Petrofac) preluded the keynote addresses before representatives from Wood Mackenzie, Lloyd’s Register, Boskalis, MTJA and Chevron Thailand shared their expertise in the field of Decommissioning. The BMCC extends its heartiest appreciation to MOGSC for making this event a success.
