Sajian Istimewa Dinner Buffet at Lemon Garden
At the heart of Sajian Istimewa is Lemon Garden’s signature dinner buffet, available from 18 February to 20 March 2026. Throughout the season, Lemon Garden’s outdoor area is transformed into a lively warung-style bazaar, echoing the sights, aromas, and convivial spirit of traditional food markets. Flickering charcoal fires, sizzling grills, and the scent of freshly fried snacks create an inviting setting where guests can wander between live cooking stations and rediscover familiar flavours during the fasting month.
The experience is anchored by beloved Ramadan favourites at Warung Goreng-Goreng, where golden fritters are fried to order. Guests can indulge in crisp goreng pisang, ubi keledek, keladi, sukun, and fragrant goreng cempedak, alongside comforting street-style bites such as cekodok, cucur jagung, and cucur kelapa.
At Warung Kuih Cara, traditional Malaysian charcoal-baked cakes made with pandan and coconut milk are prepared fresh, offering sweet variations filled with gula Melaka or dates, as well as savoury kuih cara kambing berempah, generously topped with spiced lamb.
Complementing the bustling bazaar, the buffet menu rotates throughout the season and presents a carefully curated selection of heritage dishes, prepared by certified heritage cuisine chefs led by Malay specialty chef, Mohammad Safril. Among the highlights is ayam golek istana, a regal dish from the royal kitchens of Kedah. Marinated in ten fragrant spices including coriander, fennel seeds, chilli, and shallots, the chicken is slow-grilled until tender and aromatic, with layers of spice unfolding in every bite.
Guests can also savour udang masak tempoyak Sarawak, featuring succulent tiger prawns lightly fried with lemongrass before being sautéed in a bold, tangy blend of chilli, shallots, garlic, and fermented durian. Sambal taun jangek offers a rare taste of tradition, featuring cow skin slow-cooked until meltingly tender in a deeply spiced coconut gravy, delivering rich, comforting flavours seldom encountered today.
Other specialities include pekasam daging, beef preserved using an age-old bamboo fermentation method and gently cooked with spices and freshly pressed coconut milk, evoking nostalgic, time-honoured flavours. Tunjang gulai features beef tendon slow-simmered in a mild turmeric gravy, resulting in a luxuriously smooth texture and satisfying depth. Completing the heritage selection is keli salai masak lemak cili padi bersama belimbing buluh, a proud Negeri Sembilan signature where smoked catfish is enveloped in a fragrant coconut gravy, lifted by the gentle heat of chilli padi and the refreshing tang of belimbing buluh.
Other festive staples complete the experience, including ketupat, lemang served with a variety of fragrant serunding (spiced meat floss), and classic desserts such as ais kacang, chendol, and pengat pisang, ensuring a satisfying and complete dining experience.
Guests can also enjoy kambing panggang golek berempah, a traditional Malay-style whole roasted lamb marinated with aromatic spices and slow-roasted on a rotating spit until tender with a crisp, fragrant exterior. Accompanying this is nasi minyak hujan panas, a rich, buttery ghee rice infused with fragrant spices, served piping hot and perfectly paired with festive meats and curries. Through Sajian Istimewa, Shangri-La Kuala Lumpur invites guests to savour the essence of Malay heritage, with every dish prepared with authenticity, care, and respect for tradition.
Complementing the heritage-rich offerings, Lemon Garden also presents an extensive selection of international cuisines, allowing guests to enjoy the best of both worlds. The western theatre kitchen features artisanal cheeses, an interactive pasta station, and freshly baked wood-fired pizzas. At the seafood station, guests can indulge in a premium spread of lobsters, crabs, prawns, sushi, and sashimi, while the Asian theatre kitchen showcases hot tandoori specialities, handcrafted dim sum, and freshly prepared noodles.
To conclude the dining journey, the dessert pavilion offers an indulgent array of sweet creations, from classic favourites to elegant confections, providing a delightful finale to an evening of generous flavours and heartfelt hospitality.
