Shangri-La Kuala Lumpur Honoured with MAKKNa 2025 National Award as Champion in Fire Safety and Fire Prevention
Kuala Lumpur, 25 November 2025 – Shangri-La Kuala Lumpur is proud to announce that it has been awarded Johan Keselamatan Kebakaran (Fire Safety Champion) in the Hotel Category at the Majlis Anugerah Keselamatan Kebakaran Nasional (MAKKNa) 2025, presented by the Fire and Rescue Department of Malaysia. Shangri-La Kuala Lumpur received the honour, setting a benchmark for the industry. The accolade recognises high-rise commercial buildings nationwide that demonstrate exceptional standards in fire safety management. The award follows a comprehensive evaluation, which included inspections of the hotel’s fire protection systems, structural readiness, and emergency procedures. The assessment also highlighted the expertise, preparedness, and commitment of the Fire & Life Safety team, whose vigilance ensures a safe and secure environment for both guests and colleagues.
The ceremony took place on 24 November 2025 in Alor Setar, Kedah, officiated by Yang Berbahagia Datuk Wira Dr. M Noor Azman bin Taib, Secretary General of the Ministry of Housing and Local Government, and Yang Amat Setia Dato’ Sri Nor Hisham bin Mohammad, Director General of the Fire and Rescue Department of Malaysia.
