Highlights from our Recruitment Drive with the Ministry of Higher Education Malaysia

On 26 October, the BMCC-MOHE Recruitment Drive 2024 at the World Trade Centre Kuala Lumpur drew over 2,000 aspiring talents, making the event a significant success.
We extend our appreciation to the Ministry of Higher Education (MoHE) Malaysia for partnering with BMCC on this impactful initiative, and to the Project Acceleration and Coordination Unit (PACU) for their support.
This groundbreaking recruitment drive provided the perfect platform for our participating members to elevate their brand profiles and gain targeted access to fresh graduates and final-year students supported by the MOHE.
Additionally, this event underscored our shared commitment to bridging the gap between education and industry, advancing talent development, and enhancing employability.
Our members offered a diverse of career opportunities with leading UK and Malaysian multinational companies across various sectors, including banking, finance, healthcare, digital technology, and professional services.
More specifically, the recruitment drive allowed our members to showcase their involvement in rapidly evolving fields, such as cloud computing, data analytics, cybersecurity, pharmaceuticals, engineering, and more. In doing so, they provided young talent with pathways to thrive in dynamic, high-growth industries.
This was an invaluable platform for the participating organisations, Malaysian students, and fresh graduates to directly engage with employers from both nations – empowering future talent to access and excel on the global stage.
Kudos to our 25 participating member organisations, including the BMCC, for offering over 300 career opportunities to graduates and students, alongside our partner educational institutions and professional bodies who provided further study options.
We also thank Sunway Centre for English Language Studies for volunteering their time and expertise in the CV Review and Mock Interview Session – helping young talents enhance their employability and better prepare for future career opportunities.
The event commenced with opening speeches by Ms. Nik Tasha Nik Kamaruddin, BMCC Deputy Chair, and Mr. Tom Shepherd, Acting Deputy British High Commissioner to Malaysia.
Following this, YBhg. Dato’ Dr. Haji Megat Sany bin Megat Ahmad Supian, Deputy Secretary-General (Policy) of MOHE, shared his insights. The event continued with a presentation on Malaysia-UK Higher Education Collaboration by YBhg. Datuk Professor Dr. Azlinda Azman, Director General of Higher Education, and Ms. Jazreel Goh MBE, Country Director of the British Council in Malaysia.
The day also featured a panel discussion on workforce development and future skills.
The panel session was moderated by Mr. Nic Chambers, Managing Director at Michael Page Malaysia, with distinguished speakers including Mr. Chris Farrelly from HANDD Business Solutions, Ms. Nor Adni Ismail from AICPA-CIMA, Ms. Sabrina Diana Koshy from bp, and YBhg. Professor Datuk Dr. Shahrin bin Sahib from UiTM.
A big thank you to all the senior officials and distinguished delegates who attended, as well as to the BMCC Board Members who supported the event.
This recruitment drive has been instrumental in empowering Malaysian graduates and advancing the UK-Malaysia relationship, providing a seamless pathway from education to employment and expanding opportunities for Malaysian talent to excel globally.
