BMCC PREMIER LUNCHEON WITH DATUK SERI JOHARI
Datuk Seri Haji Johari Abdul Ghani was appointed as Malaysia’s Second Minister of Finance on 27th June 2016 following a cabinet reshuffle. Prior to that he held the position of Deputy Minister of Finance after winning the Titiwangsa parliamentary seat during the May 2013 general elections.
The Minister is a qualified Chartered Accountant and a Fellow of the Chartered Association of Certified Accountants and has been active in the corporate world for over 25 years before his appointment as a Cabinet Minister. He held several senior positions across numerous industries, from the Fast Moving Consumer Goods industry, the Agriculture sector, Manufacturing, to Utilities and many others.
Datuk Seri Johari sits on the Malaysia Economic Council, is the Chairman of the Langkawi Development Authority (LADA), and is a member of the Board of Directors of Khazanah Nasional Berhad and the Board of Trustees for the Yayasan Pelaburan Bumiputera. Johari is also the founder and Chairman of Yayasan Bena Nusa, an organisation established to help reduce urban poverty and improve education for children in poor urban areas.
