Celebrating Raya 2025 with BMCC Members

In celebration of Hari Raya Aidilfitri, the BMCC had the pleasure of participating in a series of vibrant and engaging Raya Open Houses hosted by various esteemed organisations, government bodies, academic institutions, and corporate partners across Malaysia. These festive gatherings provided a meaningful platform to strengthen relationships, explore collaboration opportunities, and immersing ourselves in the spirit of unity and celebration that defines Raya.
Among the many highlights, we were warmly welcomed at the Malaysian Immigration Raya Open House, where it was wonderful to engage in friendly conversation and catch up on ongoing matters. The team also had the honour of attending TNB’s Raya Open House, hosted by Datuk Ir. Megat Jalaluddin, President and CEO of Tenaga Nasional Berhad.
Next up was a visit to Heriot-Watt University Malaysia Open House, where our very own BMCC Board Member, Prof. Dr Mushtak Al-Atabi, CEO & Provost, welcomed us with cheerful enthusiasm. The celebration was a wonderful reflection of the university’s vibrant community. We also visited the Asia OneHealthcare Open House, where Dr. Michelle Mah, Regional Head, hosted a delightful event filled with both professional insight and warm hospitality.
BMCC engaged with corporate leaders at the FIDE Forum Raya Open House, including familiar faces of Tay Kay Luan, FIDE Forum CEO, Seri Idawaty, Markets Director, Zaiti Waddell, Business Relationship Manager, Kaplan, and Kishan Jasani, Country CEO, Grant Thornton Malaysia.
We caught up with MDEC CEO Anuar Fariz Fadzil at the MDEC Raya Open House, where we were surrounded by warm hospitality, festive cheer, and inspiring conversations. The Sime Darby Property Open House was another highlight, with Dato’ Seri Azmir Merican, Group Managing Director & CEO, and YAM Tengku Datuk Seri Ahmad Shah hosting a grand Raya celebration.
In support of technical and vocational education, the BMCC visited UniKL BMI Open House, engaging with Ir. Dr. Mohd Badrolhisham Ismail, Deputy Dean, Ts. Dr. Zulkiflir Mahmoodin, Head of Campus, Dean, and Dr. Muhd Khairulazaman Abdul Kadir, International Partnership Coordinator. Energy industry ties were rekindled at the Shell Hari Raya Open House, where Cindy Lopez, Country Head, Corporate Relations (Shell Malaysia), hosted a lively and engaging open house.
Government engagement remained a key focus with a visit to the MITI Open House and the Ministry of Higher Education Open House, where Datin Noorazah Omar, Director of International Relations Division, and Datuk Dr. Anesee Ibrahim extended warm hospitality and festive cheer. No Raya round-up would be complete without a visit to the ACCA Open House, where it is always a pleasure to catch up with our finance and accounting friends.
To round things off, we attended the Malaysia British Society’s Open House, reconnecting with Amarjeet S Ghai, former President of MBS and Mark Stradling, current President of MBS, further fostering the long-standing UK-Malaysia people-to-people ties.
A big thank you to everyone who welcomed us so generously. The BMCC extends heartfelt appreciation to all hosts for their warm hospitality and congratulates them on organising such memorable and meaningful gatherings. These open houses were more than just celebrations, they were reminders of the strong, collaborative community the BMCC is proud to be part of. As we move forward, BMCC remains committed to fostering these bonds and supporting the growth of UK-Malaysia partnerships across all sectors.
