Bidding Jennifer a Fond Farewell: 7 Years of Leadership at the BMCC

- Membership Growth – Tripled subscription income and cash reserves over seven years, despite COVID-19 challenges and relocation costs.
- Office Relocation – Successfully moved the Chamber to Menara IQ, TRX in 2024.
- Premier Membership Tiers – Introduced GOLD and EMERALD membership tiers.
- 60th Anniversary Gala Dinner – Hosted 600 high-profile guests in a landmark celebration.
- Advocacy Pillar – Established the Advocacy and Government Engagement service for members.
- BMCC in London – Organised the inaugural BMCC Digital Gateway Forum with YB Gobind Singh Deo, Minister of Digital of Malaysia, in London.
- Committees & Networks – Launched four new member committees and three networks.
- Public Sector Engagement – Strengthened the JPA-BMCC engagement, achieving three consecutive annual JPA Programmes (previously biennial) and introducing the ACE Programme.
- Digital Transformation – Elevated BMCC’s digital presence to lead among international chambers in Malaysia and the region, reaching 15,000 LinkedIn followers last week, and launching the BMCC Digital Members Directory and BMCC Education Guide.
Reflecting on her journey, Jennifer said:
“It has been an incredible privilege to serve the BMCC and work alongside such passionate members, partners, and colleagues. Together, we’ve navigated challenges, celebrated milestones, and built a strong platform for the Chamber’s future. I will always carry the BMCC spirit with me.”
BMCC Chairman, Mak Joon Nien, shared his tribute:
“For seven years, Jennifer has led the BMCC with unwavering purpose — steering us through change, inspiring growth, and championing our mission with integrity and dedication. Her leadership has left an indelible mark on our Chamber and the community we serve. Under her leadership, we have forged new partnerships, expanded our reach, and elevated the Chamber’s role as a bridge between the UK and Malaysia. She is leaving a legacy that will continue to inspire us long after her tenure.”
The evening was filled with warm conversations, shared memories, and heartfelt tributes to her impactful tenure.
Leadership Transition
Jennifer will be stepping down as CEO of the BMCC effective 30 August 2025. We thank her for her outstanding contributions and wish her every success in her next chapter. In the interim, Loh Wei Yuen, former BMCC Board Member, will be stepping in as Interim Executive Director to lead the Chamber through this transition.
