BMCC’s 1st Higher Education Committee Meeting of 2026

The BMCC convened its first Higher Education Committee meeting to bring members together and align on the committee’s strategic direction and priorities for the year ahead. The session provided a platform for open dialogue on key issues shaping the higher education landscape in Malaysia and opportunities for collaboration between industry and academia.

Discussions focused on attracting a more diverse cohort of international students to Malaysian universities, strengthening Malaysia’s position as a regional education hub. Members also exchanged perspectives on the implementation and impact of the National Higher Education Blueprint, and how institutions can support its long-term objectives.

The meeting further explored opportunities to deepen UK–Malaysia Transnational Education (TNE) collaborations, particularly in enhancing academic partnerships and knowledge exchange. Additional areas of discussion included leadership training and development initiatives for future academic and industry leaders, as well as expanding internship opportunities to better equip students with practical skills and industry exposure.

The committee will continue to serve as a platform for dialogue and collaboration among BMCC members in the higher education sector.
