Around 100 children from local and international schools were given a unique opportunity to hone their tackling and try-scoring skills this afternoon at an action-packed Coaching Clinic led by three leading rugby legends from the UK and New Zealand.
Organised this year in conjunction with KL Saracens, one of the city’s grassroots rugby training organisations, the Clinic is part of the Annual Charity Rugby Dinner Event by the British Malaysian Chamber of Commerce (BMCC). Now in its 10th year, the Dinner has raised over RM1.25 million for local charities since 2005. This year’s Title Sponsor, The Royal Bank of Scotland, is joined by Gold Sponsors Lloyd’s Register + Senergy and Land Rover, along with official airline partner Qatar Airways.
Leading the Clinic alongside the regular coaches were: Ben Kay MBE, former Leicester Tigers and England player; Richard Hill MBE, former Saracens and England player; and Eric Rush, former All Blacks and Rugby Sevens player. The juniors, ranging in ages from 6 to 14, were put through their paces in practising a range of skills, as ably demonstrated by the three legends.
