BMCC Supports AI-Powered Leadership Event by Asia School of Business

AI-Powered Leadership: Shaping the Future of Business and Talent was a thought-provoking event co-hosted by 16 international chambers, including the British Malaysian Chamber of Commerce (BMCC), and held at the Asian Business School (ABS). The event featured prominent speakers such as Sanjay Sarma, Dean of ABS, and Vittorio Furlan, Independent Non-Executive Director of Maybank, with Yuki Aizawa, Regional Director of Women in Tech APAC, as moderator. The session explored how AI is transforming leadership, education, and the future of work, especially in a rapidly evolving digital economy.
Key takeaways from the event included the importance of embracing lifelong learning, particularly through “desirable difficulties” that deepen understanding and skill development. Both speakers emphasised that AI will not replace jobs entirely but will change how work is done—augmenting roles rather than eliminating them. Leaders were challenged to rethink organisational structures and workplace culture, especially in areas like inclusivity, flexibility, and mental health. The conversation also highlighted that human qualities such as creativity, adaptability, and emotional intelligence will be crucial in standing out in an AI-enhanced workforce.
