BMCC New Year’s Drinks 2026 at Menara IQ, TRX

We began the year on an uplifting note as members gathered to raise a glass to 2026. The evening celebrated new beginnings and reaffirmed the strong sense of purpose that unites our Chamber community.

The programme opened with welcome remarks by Mak Joon Nien, Chairman of BMCC and CEO of Standard Chartered Bank Malaysia, who delivered an encouraging message of enduring resilience and persistent growth, followed by Farhan Zamri, Executive Director of BMCC, who shared his hopes for the Chamber’s future under his leadership.

The occasion was made especially meaningful as it marked Farhan’s first official event as our Executive Director. We are delighted to have Farhan at the helm and look ahead with confidence as he leads the Chamber into its next chapter to strengthen UK-Malaysia business ties with renewed energy and commitment.

This evening also saw the launch of BMCC Member Exclusive Login Page on the Chamber’s website, officiated by His Excellency Ajay Sharma CMG, British High Commissioner to Malaysia, together with Mak Joon Nien and Farhan Zamri.

The launch of this members-only platform is a step in enhancing member value and experience. It provides access to key government masterplans, policies and blueprints; government event briefing decks; and member-to-member privileges, with more content to be progressively added.

At last, we concluded with a New Year’s toast led by H.E. Ajay, bringing everyone together in a shared moment of celebration. Thereafter, warm conversation and shared reflection flowed as the evening became charged with an unmistakable sense of optimism for the year ahead.
