From the 14th to 18th May 2017, the CommonwealthFirst conducted its 2nd Export Champion Trade Mission, visiting Malaysia and Singapore. The BMCC played a key role in the delegates’ overall itinerary with MITI, MIDA, MDEC and the British High Commission leading up to an evening Networking Reception with BMCC members.
The CommonwealthFirst was established by the Commonwealth Enterprise and Investment Council (CWEIC) with a mission to encourage small and medium enterprises (SMEs) to trade and invest across the Commonwealth.
The Reception was held at Intercontinental Hotel KL, where up to 30 BMCC members guests were exclusively invited to network with the delegation candidates led by Richard Burge, Chief Executive of the CWEIC. The delegation companies included Avon Barrier, BOXARR, Clarks Legal, iGene Global, i-genius, Gaist, Oxley Developments, Asec Asia Industries, and Kestrel Liner Agencies.
Over the next three years 100 leading UK SMEs will be selected to become Commonwealth Export Champions, and this recent Export Champion Trade Mission to Malaysia was the 2nd of many more to come.
