BMCC Meets MyDigital to Discuss Malaysia’s AI and Digital Transformation Priorities
We had a great discussion with MyDigital to better understand their priorities and challenges as Malaysia accelerates its digital and AI ambitions.
The conversation focused on advancing Malaysia’s goal of becoming an AI nation by 2030, driving greater AI and IoT adoption among SMEs, and strengthening AI talent development through existing training programmes, with more initiatives in the pipeline.
We also learned about the upcoming launch of Skill@Scale, a national digital upskilling and reskilling programme. Talent readiness and data availability remain key challenges as the ecosystem continues to mature.
Looking ahead, digital and AI elements are set to be integrated into high school curricula by 2027, while a Digital Inclusivity Index is currently in development. MyDigital is also finalising its mid-term review of the 2030 plan, with the report expected to be launched in Q1.
We thank the MyDigital team for meeting with us: Puan Ellina Roslan, Senior Director; Encik Idlan Firdaus, Manager, Special Projects, Centre4IR; Encik Akil Yunus, Manager, Thought Leadership & Strategic Partnerships, Malaysia Centre4IR
