The British Malaysian Chamber of Commerce (BMCC) jointly collaborated with Iskandar Regional Development Authority (IRDA) in organizing a delegation tour of Iskandar, Johor on 29 May 2014. The delegation tour consisted of 20 people which included representatives from companies like Atkins Global, Michael Page and Zerin Properties.
Delegates were given a short briefing by BMCC’s Executive Director Nik Tasha before departing to Iskandar Malaysia Information Centre (IMIC). There the delegates were given a briefing on the region by representative of IRDA and later, they embarked on a tour of the area. The tour consisted of visits to places like Marlborough College, Kota Iskandar, Pinewood Iskandar Malaysia, Legoland, Educity and Johor Premium Outlets.
The purpose of BMCC organizing the delegation tour is to create awareness of the Iskandar region and the opportunities available for companies who are thinking to establish over here. As one of the fastest growing region in ASEAN, Iskandar provides multi-sectors investment opportunities which ranges from healthcare, education, creative, financial advisory and consulting to tourism.
Delegates who participated were satisfied with the Iskandar tour organized and found it insightful as it gave them the opportunity to learn in depth of the region’s multi-sectors investment opportunities. The tour also gave them the chance to meet with government representative like the Honourable Datuk Tengku Putra Haron, and network with established British companies over dinner.
