BMCC Cheque Donation to NCSM

The BMCC’s 13th Annual Charity Rugby Dinner held in May this earlier year has successfully raised RM75,000 in charity for the National Cancer Society of Malaysia (NCSM). Proceeds from the dinner were raised from a raffle and ticket sales, and largely through the successful Live Auctioning of Rugby memorabilia led by veteran emcee and auctioneer Justin “Sambo” Sampson.

The cheque presentation was held at the NCSM facility last week where a members of the BMCC Rugby Committee including Brian Pye, Dave Goulding, Geoff Siddle and BMCC Executive Director Aurelia Silva were give a tour of the establishment, led by Dr. Saunthari and NCMS General Manager Sudhaharan Nair.

Speaking of the numerous developments accomplished and underway at the NCSM, Dr. Saunthari commented “All of this is only possible with your donation. Thank you for your generosity and support.”

“You have helped us share vital information about cancer, including ts prevention to hundreds of communities. Your kind contribution has allowed hundreds of low income families obtain their career screening. Your efforts have enabled cancer patients and survivors gain more confidence and to go on and help other patients.”

The NCSM is once again the beneficiaries of the charity funds for the second year running, selected by the dinner’s title sponsor HSBC in recognising of the NCSM’s 51 year hard work in providing education, care and support to those affected by cancer. Since the BMCC’s Rugby Charity Dinner series began in 2005, over RM 1.6 million in donations have been raised for various charitable causes in Malaysia.
