BMCC at Validation Workshop Sarawak-UK Partnership: Landscaping and Analysis of Collaboration Opportunities

Our Public Affairs and Government Relations Officer, Asyraf Shahar, recently traveled to Sarawak to attend the Validation Workshop Sarawak-UK Partnership: Landscaping and Analysis of Collaboration Opportunities.
Organised by the British High Commission in Kuala Lumpur and facilitated by Vriens & Partners, the workshop aimed to identify ways and recommendations to strengthen the UK’s engagements in Sarawak, with particular focus on the following four (4) areas:
- Advanced Manufacturing
- Renewable Energy
- Digital Transformation
- Education & Human Capital
Asyraf met with Vriens & Partners’ Country Manager, Nazhif Yusoff, and several of our members in HSBC, Newcastle University of Medicine, Turner and Townsend, and the British Council. He also engaged with with officials from Sarawak EPU, Sarawak Ministry of Utilities & Telecommunication & Sarawak Energy Berhad.
He also had a fruitful and engaging meeting with Sarawak Economic Development Berhad Energy team (SEDC Energy) at their office. He met with Mr. Daryll, Manager, Strat Comms and Mr. Hazee, Manager, Risk.
They shared about SEDC’s priorities and projects, like hydrogen mobility, sustainable aviation fuel, algae farm production and hydrogen economy.
