BMCC at the Nexus International School Learner Leadership & Sustainability Conference

The British Malaysian Chamber of Commerce (BMCC) was proud to support the Learner Leadership and Sustainability Conference hosted by Nexus International School on 10 March 2026 in conjunction with International Day of Women and Girls in Science.

The learner-led conference brought together more than 100 students from participating schools including Epsom College MalaysiaMarlborough College MalaysiaKolej Tuanku Ja’afar, and Sri KDU International School for a day of dialogue, collaboration and student-led initiatives focused on sustainability and leadership.

The programme featured student panels, interactive discussions and project booths showcasing ideas inspired by the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, demonstrating how young people are translating global sustainability challenges into meaningful initiatives within their schools and communities.

A key session included an industry panel supported by Women in Rail Malaysia and YTL Construction, where speakers shared insights on sustainability, infrastructure development and the evolving role of public transportation in shaping future cities.

Closing the conference, our Executive Director, Farhan Zamri, highlighted the importance of empowering young people to lead sustainability initiatives and emphasised the value of collaboration between education, industry and the wider community.
