Malaysia Climate Action Week 2021
In the run-up to the 26th UN Climate Change Conference of the Parties (COP26), the BMCC and the British High Commission Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia (BHCKL) organised five days of thought-provoking webinars on key climate action themes.
The Malaysia Climate Action Week (MCAW), organised by the BMCC and British High Commission Kuala Lumpur (BHCKL), was launched a five days of incisive discussions on climate action covering ESG principles, climate governance, sustainable energy, climate-smart cities, net zero supply chains and food supply. The event, which attracted close to 900 registrations, offered valuable insights from an impressive line-up of 36 experts and corporate leaders. This inaugural event successfully set the scene for the 26th UN Climate Change Conference of the Parties (COP26) in Glasgow hosted by the UK in partnership with Italy.

BMCC Climate Action Pledge
One of the main highlights of MCAW was the launch of BMCC Climate Action Pledge, with the objective of motivating businesses in Malaysia to embark on a journey to establish and implement climate-related goals over the next 12 months.
The BMCC Climate Action Pledge started as an avenue to raise awareness about climate change and implement climate-related initiatives among organisations and businesses that have yet to commit to any climate-related goal. We aim to encourage organisations and businesses to adopt some of these initiatives below:
The Pledge was officiated by guest of honour Sam Myers, HM Deputy Trade Commisioner for Asia Pacific (Southeast Asia), Department for International Trade (DIT) saw 29 companies signed up to take their first steps or demonstrate their leadership towards decarbonisation over the next 12 months:
