BMCC BREAKFAST TALK SERIES #2

Following the success of the first Breakfast Talk Series at International SOS on the matter of Wellness, the second installment of the series returns on April the 12th, this time featuring two leading ICT industry leaders in Mr Hew Wee Choong and Dato’ Faris Yahaya.

Hew Wee Choong is the Vice President, Investment & Industry Development of MDEC (Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation). Prior to this, he led the Investor Relations team in InvestKL’s initiative to attract multi-nationals to Greater Kuala Lumpur. Wee Choong has more than 18 years of experience in consulting and business development serving multinational corporations within Malaysia and globally. His area of involvement includes information, communications & technology (ICT), financial institution services, insurance, automotive, airline and retail. He started his career in the Information Technology Consulting Services of Ernst and Young before joining XyLog Computer Systems, Symphony Xen Solutions and International SOS, amongst others. Wee Choong holds a Bachelor of Science (Information Technology and Economics) and a Graduate Diploma in Economics from La Trobe University, Australia.

Dato’ Faris Yahaya was appointed as the Managing Director of Cyberview Sdn Bhd in June 2013. He has more than 20 years of experience in Audit, Banking, Financial Advisory and Consultancy Services. Faris holds a BSc. (Accounting & Financial Analysis) from the University of Warwick, United Kingdom and attended Bank Negara Malaysia’s Global Leadership Development Programme at Drucker School of Management in Claremont Graduate University, Haas School of Business in University of California Berkeley and Marshall School of Business in University of Southern California. He is also a member of the Malaysian Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Malaysian Institute of Accountants.

The speakers will speak on the topics of “Malaysia’s Future: The Digital Economy” and “IoT’s (Internet of Things) Contribution to the Development of Smart Cities” respectively.
